SKEGNESS TOWN JFC WELCOMES MARK & NATHAN TO THE COACHING TEAM

5 Jun 2020 by Press Officer

Skegness Town JFC are delighted to announce the appointment of two new coaches, Nathan Wetton and Mark Belton, who have joined the club to develop young foundation stage footballers. Nathan and Mark will be working with our brand new Under 7’s during the 2020/21 season.

Nathan is no stranger to Skegness Town and has a history at the club as a player. He is an experienced football coach that spent a number of years as a player and coach in the USA, more recently working locally in education and sports leadership. He will be familiar to many parents locally as a leading football coach at mini kicks sessions.

Mark is also very well known in the area in the world of sports and fitness, where he manages the Fresh Fitness facility located on the Richmond Holiday Park. He passed his Level 1 football coaching certificate a number of years ago.

Speaking about the appointment Head Coach Dale Houlston commented, “I am delighted that Nathan and Mark are coming on board, they are entirely what we look for in people to coach football at Skegness Town, and I’ve been so impressed with their enthusiasm, not just for wanting to deliver first class football development in the area, but also for their desire to develop further as coaches. As a club we are well placed to support them with that”.

On joining the club Nathan said “The facilities at Skegness Town are second to none and the club is providing something different in the area to the traditional ways of coaching grassroots football. It is exactly the sort of club that I want to be a part of and I can’t wait to get started. It was great to meet up with Dale and it was clear straight away that we want the same things. I want to progress further as a coach on the FA’s pathway, and Dale and the club are prepared to support me with this, and that can only be good for the players”.

Mark was similarly excited about the prospect of joining Skegness Town JFC and commented, “You just get a great feeling as soon as you pull into the car park at Skegness Town. The whole place is modern and fresh, and the way that they are approaching football development is so positive. I did my Level 1 course a long time ago now, and I know that from talking with Dale that courses have moved on a long way since then. So I am going to do the new Level 1 course, and following that I want to do other football coaching qualifications too”.

Dale continued, “Obviously with the COVID-19 crisis we aren’t sure exactly when we will be able to commence training again, but it is still fantastic to have Nathan and Mark in place in readiness for this”.

Everyone at Skegness Town JFC welcomes Mark and Nathan and wishes them every success.
